Default Mesmer Gameplay

So much like my topic in the Elementalist forum, my Mesmer, Alsitha Freit (Neriandal's older, wiser, maturer brother) is my second most played character.

When I was forced to take a break from Guildwars (for the past five months), I left the in mists of Mesmers coming to Solo Farming Power. Thankfully I see that Dopefish is a master of his character and has enabled Mesmers once again to be the Soloing Farmers they can be.

But, as for gameplay. How has this changed, or has it for Mesmers? Are we any closer into groups letting us come in or are we still thought of as PvP Only class? What else has changed that I haven't seen on these forums?

I get to start playing this time next week, and I will be playing him too!

IMO...I probably still have some trouble getting into groups..but some certain skills will certainly let you in. Hardmode is pretty swell with mesmers. Pvp wise for me has died down. RA annoys the hell outa me and HvH is just the same old same old.

I feel the problem with my mesmer is that i'm forced to use the same skills to be able to get anywhere...backfire, empathy, diversion...e-denial seems useless to me now until gwen comes out. But the new pve skills are pretty sweet ^_^. Fastcasting now affects signets if you didn't know. I still love my mesmer...FOREVER. Myahahaha. Just play it you'll have fun!

welll i don`t have any probs with pve pugs cause i expirienced that abut 80% of the normal players behave worse than boths.
An ordinary Signnet of Illusion and Sunspear/Faction Skill will do the job for ya
i'm trying to avoid random-pve pugs as much as i can, cause most of these guys are noobs or pseudo-pros imo
it's really hard to get an effective and nice party for any class today IMO.

Greetings,
Dope

Default Difficulty getting groups?

I've read a number of posts over the past few months from Mesmers complaining that it is difficult to find groups. I've been playing with the mesmer class for about a month now, and have found that getting pickup groups is pretty easy when doing the missions to beat the game.

I would imagine that getting groups in FoW and the other high level zones might be more of a challenge, but hopefully the Gwen skills will help change that.

It seems like most mesmers are experienced players these days. Maybe that is why I get accepted into groups so quickly?

In my experience, mesmers in PvE are either total crap or good. When I did FoW with my mesmer, I'd usually get into groups by being SS/BiP. When I was doing the Nightfall campaign, I didn't really have trouble finding a pug.

On the other hand, a few times in the past couple weeks I've had bad experiences with other mesmers. When I was helping my guildie get the bonus in Elona Reach, a mesmer I let in had the most horrible bar i'd seen; points spread across 6 attributes. I worked with him to try to clean it up some, but then he left in the middle of the mission for no apparent reason. Similar things have happened in the past, too.

On the other hand (yes, i have three hands), I'm generally seeing more decked-out mesmers (black 15k armor, etc) in PvE, so that's encouraging.

Hard mode has helped the situation too. I'll stop rambling now.
